95% of young adults develop acne, many severe enough to require treatment from a dermatologist. Teenagers get acne as a result of hormones called androgens, which increase the amount of oil the skin produces. Teenagers aren’t the only ones that suffer through these skin problems. Women in the midst of hormone changes sparked by pregnancy, birth control pills, menstruation, and even early menopause can result in pimple outbreaks. Acne is often used for many different symptoms, including: skin cysts, blackheads, whiteheads, and pimples. The pores of the skin become clogged and you get infected or inflamed lesions. Greasy food and dirty hair do not cause pimple outbreaks.

Squeezing a blackhead could open up your skin pores, creating more pimples. This may also cause inflammation which can lead to infection. Certain birth control pills can increase acne. Avoid makeup that contains lanolins, D&C red dyes, and sodium lauryl sulfate. Avoid oil-based makeups. The oil in these makeups contain certain types of fatty acids which can interfere with the fatty acids in your skin. Here are water-based products that I recommend: Use soap twice a day and make sure you rinse the soap completely off your face. 6) Use over the counter acne treatments Before taking a trip to the doctor, there are many over the counter treatments that may solve the problem. Make sure you choose one with benzoyl peroxide. The benzoyl brings the peroxide into your pores and releases oxygen.
It also prevents fatty acids from irritating the pores. Dry skin can be sensitive to benzoyl peroxide. If you have dry skin, try to find something that is lower strength. Acne medications may not react well with sunlight. You shouldn’t expose yourself to sunlight or infrared heat lamps until you know how your skin will react. If you are using an over the counter treatment and you get a prescription from your doctor, stop using it. When you dehydrate your body, your skin will show it.
Eventually the dryness will lead to more and more obvious wrinkles. Start drinking plenty of water now to keep skin from drying out. If you can’t drink eight to ten glasses of water everyday, try eating plenty of foods that contain water, such as melons and lettuce.
